If a friend gives you advice, should you take it? That depends on quite a few factors. Do they have your best interests at heart? Will they have to live with the consequences as well as you? Do you want the outcome they are most familiar with? These are just some of the questions you need to consider.
Also consider what might feel good or easy in the moment versus what is right, moral or better in the long run.
When receiving advice, be aware of second and third order consequences as well. Also consider if the outcome they would want for you truly aligns with what you would want for you.
