Investigate The Opposite

Learning how to assess information without your emotions and bias overtaking you, is a rare and useful skill.

Some folks are so interested in winning the argument, they’re not that interested in the facts or context surrounding it.

If you want better understanding, more than having your view get more votes, then go and engage with people holding the opposite view to you. It may not change your mind but you’ll better understand the complexities of the situation.

You’ll also become a better person and have less divisive conversations. So no need to wait for others to be less difficult in conversations. You can lead the way and be more balanced from the start.

Know Where Your Money Flows

You should have a plan for every penny. That would be ideal. Get as close as you can to this idea. Direct 10% to your savings and investments pot. Get it out of your account with an automatic payment, as soon as your income goes in.

If you have any money left over at the end of the month, pay down your personal debt more aggressively.

Appreciate The Moment

Moments come and go so quickly. Grab those precious moments and deeply appreciate them. It could be anything from a kind word, a gift, act of kindness, time spent or something more lavish or exciting. They are all important moments. Celebrate them all.

Play Cards

It’s great for relaxing, pattern recognition and mental acuity. There’s a great social element too. Even with solitaire (who hasn’t had someone lean over and help them out…)

Have Fun Sensibly

Have a great time. Enjoy! Park, dance, sing, play and entertain yourself. Just do it sensibly. No doctors or police. And try to make it something you could happily tell your grandmother and your own 10 year old children.

If You Do The Same, You Get The Same

Think of the next 12 months ahead. How closely will it resemble the last 12 months? Will you eat similar foods, sleep at similar times, work about the same hours on very similar type things? I will guess that you’ll also celebrate the same birthdays, holidays and special moments.

If everything you do is the same, how can you expect life to be or feel differently? You really need to make some small changes or shifts in what you do. Then increase the frequency and/or intensity of these changes so you begin to get demonstrably different results.
