Engage in battle with an argument to the death? Or you could shrug and walk away. Sometimes it’s just easier to move along and let the other person live in their own bubble. Try it. It may save your sanity.

Be A Good Neighbour
Be kind. Speak well of others. Help people out.
Parents Dreams
Historically it was common for people to do what their parents did. If your parents were farmers or blacksmiths or royalty, you could quite reasonably expect a similar life.
As the Industrial Revolution advanced, new job opportunities opened up. Some people moved to cities and tried new things.
Today the opportunities to do different things is ever greater. And the more traditional jobs of many parents are eschewed.
However, sometimes we will do things because our parents wanted to do them and they we’re unable to do them for various reasons. Be mindful of this when making your own way. Don’t live the life your parents wanted. Reflect on what you want to do, what works with your values and also consider the outcomes you want 20 years from now.
You can achieve anything if you wrap your mind around it.
The Stories People Create
“Obviously, she was thinking that….” How is it that we think we are so good at mind reading other people? Oftentimes people express what is on their mind and project it onto others.
Many people make a snap decision and then build a case around their view of the story. “He’s innocent!” And if he really is, then the police, prosecutor, witnesses etc are the real bad people.
They are often afraid to see what the reality could be, especially if they would be seen as taking the view of the other side compared to their usual orientation.
Think about this next time you create a story around something, or hear someone else do it. Where are the facts? Where did the story comes from? Are there elements that have probably been made up to fill in some space and make it more exciting or believable?
Stop yourself next time, especially if you’re making up negative points. Create lovely stories if you’re going to make stuff up.
See Something Differently Today
Look at your world from a different perspective today. Your house, spouse, kids, dog or even shower soap. Look around you with fresh eyes and no bias. Consider everything without your usual bias or expectation. Good luck!!
Inflate Or Pay?
Many observers of governments and markets thought the governments of the world would let their new debts inflate away. The idea being that as everything inflated, the debt would become relatively smaller and therefore more manageable.
However, it looks more like some governments and/or central banks will try to ensure people will pay back all the debts that they didn’t ask to be created. And to do so may involve everyone working at two or three jobs to raise the money, pay the extra tax and pay off the debts.
If you haven’t thought about how the next 1, 2, 3 or even 5 years are about to play out, you had better consider some of the options for our future. Listen to a few doomsayers and optimists for contrast. Then get yourself set up in November because March may be too late.
Asking For Payment
It’s important to pay for products and services we buy. We agree a price, use the product or service and then pay for it.
Equally, when we provide the product or service, we should be confident and ask for the sale or payment. We should ask with the expectation of prompt payment just as we would pay promptly if we were on they other side of the trade.
We would feel like a thief if we did not pay for something we acquired. Just as we would feel like we had something stolen from us if we delivered and we’re not paid.
Sometimes people forget to pay. So we must remind them. For their sake, and our own. And do it right away. It can get embarrassing if we have to chase someone down the street for payment. It’s awkward on both sides. Don’t let that happen.
Most people are honest and willing to pay. When you don’t remind them to pay, they could feel like a lesser person when they do remember. Make sure you give them every opportunity to feel good about buying, and paying for, your product or service, by asking for payment.
Wake Up!
Are you financially fit? Are you hoping, dreaming, avoiding or planning, when it comes to your financial future?
You’ll probably end up broke if you hope, dream or avoid. And if you plan, have you stress tested it with challenges and been accurate with your current, realistic course?
You can do more than you think, so start imagining and planning. Yes you need effort and sometimes it will be hard, uncomfortable or even frustrating. But it’s better to have those challenges in your 20’s to 50’s than your 60’s and up.
It can feel hard, uncertain and confusing to get started organising your finances. But if you don’t, you could end up broke or in an undesirable (non) retirement situation.
Yet, if you start now, you can take control of your future, learn some basics and have a wonderful retirement, while still passing on a solid inheritance to the kids or your favourite charity.
Start today! It’s time to wake up! Do it yourself or get in touch and I can give you some pointers. Regardless, pay attention and set up your life to win! I’m cheering for you. ✅
Choices
Would you rather be given £1 million today or wake up tomorrow morning?
If you would rather wake up tomorrow morning, you chose that over £1m. When you wake up, you should at least be as happy as someone who was just given £1m, since waking up must be better than getting the £1m.
You choose to smile, to be fit, to take on challenges. Live every ounce of today. It’s the only day you get. But you can make it better than expected in lots of little ways.
The Lesson Will Repeat Itself Until You Learn It. @steven
Loving this!! Thank you Steven Bartlett for the title. (The Diary Of A CEO)
We all have lessons that keep repeating and we get outcomes we don’t necessarily want.
We can change this. We can learn the lessons. We can make the changes and say No More!
We haven’t learned the lessons because it’s not convenient, easy, or comfortable. They are habits we created. But we can create other ones. It takes work to adjust these habits. We need Discipline, Effort, and Desire to have better outcomes.
No longer do we have to say “Why does this always happen to me?” Or “Isn’t that typical” or even “I knew that would happen”.
Change our ways today and get better results tomorrow. Live a better life with just some simple changes in how we think and do.
We can set up our environment to win. We can set up our schedule to win. We can start today.
Learn the lessons the feedback is giving you. And then make the adjustments. Yes, it will feel odd at first, but it will get easier and your results will be much better.
Start now!
