Tiny Wins
Hold on tight to your tiny wins. They keep you smiling, positive and ready to receive more.
A young lady gave me a little more scoop of ice cream than probably she was meant to. There was a clear difference to other cones I’d seen. She had the biggest smile. I thanked her and we shared that fun smile. It was kindness in action.
It was a tiny win for both of us and we knew it. In fact, here I am a week later writing about it.
Some things I initially thought were negative this week, have been reframed as tiny wins. And my life is magnitudes better off from them.
Got Lemons? Make Lemonade!
Whether you are a young person looking for a job and get your 20th rejection, or an older person finding out their job is no longer there, when life delivers lemons, squeeze harder and make some delicious lemonade!
Demonstrate your resilience, creativity, mindset shift and positive outlook by shaking off what was delivered and refocusing on the amazing opportunities ahead.
Not everything will work out as planned, but having that positive outlook will help get you there, and will soften the blow if you don’t.
Enjoy Together
Doing things with a friend or family member can add so much more to an experience.
Watching significant matches, snowboarding, skating, going on holidays or even having a meal, can be more rewarding when doing it with a favourite person.
It’s usually more enjoyable and you have a shared memory of the event.
Whenever you can, enjoy together!
Chin Up
No matter what, keep your chin up.
Be A Great Role Model
Build people up. Be kind. Take great care of your health and body – it’s the Only body you get in this life.
Think. Think critically. Protect your mind and soul from negative thoughts. Be optimistic. Smile – a lot. Have fun and be playful.
Take the high road.
Think of 10 people that you’ve ever heard of that are great role models. Write down the characteristics they have that make them great role models. Now excel in developing those characteristics through to excellence.
What Happened To Kindness
While on a bus today, a young man, maybe 19, wanted to get on, but either had no money or his card wasn’t working.
I have a son about his age and I’ve been without cash at times, so I could feel his frustration. So I walked to the front of the bus to pay for him; pay it forward. The driver said we were not travelling together so I couldn’t pay for him.
I thought it was a very strange rule. The young man thanked me for the attempt and got off the bus.
What a bizarre idea that I couldn’t help a young man in a challenging moment. What happened to kindness?!
People With Sparkle
You really notice a difference when someone has that energy, that sparkle. They are great to be around, fun, playful and energetic.
They engage so passionately that it is impossible not to feel great and uplifted.
Get more of these people in your life.
Love More
Everyone benefits.
Appreciate People More
If you fly through life spending more time noticing what’s “wrong”, today is a great day to flip that on its head.
Millions of tiny things have to happen for you to have a day even close to what you hope or expect. Alarm clocks have to be set correctly, no heart attack, stroke or illness with anyone who will transport you, and you must find all the food you need.
Appreciate all the people in the chain that help in some way to make your day as effective, efficient and enjoyable as possible.
Be amazed and be appreciative.
