You are either improving or getting worse. Nothing is neutral, at least not for long. You are either gaining weight or losing weight. You are becoming more fit or less fit. The relationship you’re in is either getting stronger or weaker.

You decide whether you are working on getting better each day or slipping behind each day.

Challenge Your Current Identity

Being honest with yourself, what are your current core attributes? Are you athletic? Do you think you’re great with numbers? Would you describe your current self as slim, solid, or obese? Are you funny?

Write down 10-15 descriptive words about your current self. Then, write down 10-15 words you would prefer to be known by. Post these words by your bed. Read them out several times per day.

Keep reading them out several times per day. Notice which words make you flinch or cringe. Then dig down deep into why that is. Figure out how to make future you acceptable to your consciousness.

Down Time

Enjoy a bit of time all too yourself. Be sure to carve it out and hold that time in your day. Otherwise, you’ll work, sort out kids, parents, friends, do admin, side hustle, charity work and that Board you’re on and forget, or run out of time, for you.

Hip, Hip, Hooray!

If you’ve had a successful hip, knee, or other surgery, it’s time to celebrate! The miracle of modern medicine is incredible. Just 100 years ago, these surgeries would have seemed like magic. 300 years ago they would have been considered witchcraft.

Today, just consider them a fabulous miracle.

Love Hard

Don’t hold back. Go all in. Give 100% commitment at all times. If both parties do, you will have an amazing relationship.

Though, if you only give 83% one time, it won’t feel the same. With some hesitancy, but concern, the other person could cool down to 68%. Then the 83% could slip to 57%. Be careful of this downward spiral.

That is why it is so important to keep running hot at 100%. Don’t allow room for doubt. Keep the confidence ultra high. This is the way to thrive in your relationship.
