Remove And Limit
For the next 7 days, remove 5 things from your house each day. Find 5 things each day that do not bring you joy and get them out of the house. Take them to a charity shop, bin them or sell them online. Just get them out of the house in the next 7 days.
Be mindful that you don’t discard someone else’s favourite item. If it is not 100% yours, do ask the other person first to see if they are ok with letting it go.
Secondly, really limit what you bring in to the house. Leave it out front for recycling or in the trash bin if necessary. The less you bring into the house, the less you need to throw away later on.
If you do this every day for three months, you’ll have gotten rid of 450 items and your house will be nearly free of clutter and feel very cozy and calm.
Change. Only If They Want.
People have an infinite capacity to change for the better and for the worse. However, people usually change only once they decide to. Hence the saying about the horse, the water, and drinking.
Most people will do anything but change, even if the path is clear and the outcome almost certain. They would rather not change and then wait until it becomes a disaster.
Don’t be that person. Make the tough, uncomfortable changes today.
Peace And Calm
Enjoy them.
Discipline Determines
Your discipline will determine what level of success you are going to have.
If you don’t discipline your mind and body, to develop great habits, that you consistently do, every day, then you will have exactly what you have now, but you’ll be a year older.
Ignore it for a year or two or ten. Nobody will take any notice. You’ll be the same. And it’s only you to blame.
Instead, get determined. Stop talking. Start doing. Get results. Feel good. Your discipline will determine the outcome you’re going to have.
Your results tell us everything we need to know.
Reevaluate
After a big life event and after 12 months, reevaluate everything. Make sure your goals Are up to date and that you are on track. Be clear you want to still go in this direction.
How Do You Spend Your Time?
Have you ever thought about it? Observe how you spend non-work time. Is it with family? Are you solo?
Reading, writing, watching movies, playing cards, tinkering and socialising are often cited as favourite pastimes.
Drill down into how you spend your time as it’s a useful barometer for life.
Forward Thinking
Think forward and not backward. Accept what has happened in the past and think about how you would like to steer your life going forward.
Focus on what could be in the future and move toward that. Take one step at a time and press on.
A future vision of your life and the world should be almost entirely positive. As a vision, it doesn’t require any negative aspects. If you’re holding negative thoughts then you have the opportunity to change those in your mind.
Use forward thinking to take you forward, toward the life you want to be living.
Exasperation
How we hold to our beliefs is fascinating. We hold on and hold on until finally something happens. Something changes our mind. We may see something different, maybe from a different angle, perspective or setting and boom, we decide enough is enough.
We hit exasperation and say that’s it. We can only hold on to old thoughts for so long. With new evidence, the truth or a slight opening of our mind, we can see the world in a different way and want that better reality.
Find Your Pastime
Is there something you love to do? Could you make some money doing it? Maybe that is your next move.
