There seems to be a tendency to do things our own way, as individuals, or in companies. This makes things unique and interesting. Though it can also make things inefficient and difficult. Non-standard items such as electrical plugs, rail gauge and forms could be addressed soon, for efficiencies sake.

Customer Service
Yikes. Some is terrible. Though some are really great. Today, however a bank/credit card company and a car rental company have been so very painful. I don’t recall ever being engaged for so long and walking away with such little progress. Some companies need to be reminded that our time is more valuable than their cost efficiencies.
Ask Questions
The easiest way to get a conversation going is to ask questions. Some of those questions they will want to answer in greater detail. Note which those are. Ask more questions in that direction. Then sit back, listen and learn.
What’s Fun For You?
Do you enjoy card games or roller skating? Some people prefer sports and others like reading. You can get a thrill from high octane adventures or lie listlessly near a river enjoying the heat and watching clouds drift by. What’s your favourite way to have fun?
Play, But How Far?
Survivors and especially more successful people may be more forgiving than others. Since they made it through life, they may let their kids take even greater chances. They may be less strict, more lenient, forgiving or even lax. That could be a good thing. But without some decent discipline, you’re setting them up to fail.
The Prep And The Event
You prep to pitch so you can win the right to host the Olympics. Then if you win the right to host, you prep for 8 years so you can do a great job. There is a lot of prep to host a few weeks of sporting competitions. And then it is all gone but for the memories. So much of life is the same process: idea, pre-prep, prep, brief event and memories. From a holiday, to a job, education or a marriage, a similar pattern plays out.
The Comfort In Old Friends
Things always click with old friends. There is a real comfort in seeing them and knowing what you’re going to get.
Deal Intensity
Getting a deal over the line can be quite exhilarating! The cut and thrust of commerce. Timetables trashed, expectations dashed and a resurrection in the final minutes. The heart is racing and the blood is pumping. All hands on deck to get it over the line!
Big Purchases
A house, a car, long haul flights and an all-inclusive or five star hotel stay can be some of the biggest purchases you’ll make in life.
Note how you feel when you consider the 5, 6 or 7 figure sum for the first time. How does that change once you’ve decided to take the leap and pay the bill? And once it’s been paid? It’s an interesting mental transition.
Only A Glimpse
That’s all we ever see into another persons life. We don’t know all of their inner thoughts, daily habits, emotional or financial struggles or challenges with their family, school or work.
With 700,800 hours in an average life, that’s a lot of hours to transfer to someone! Especially to someone who’s trying to live their own 700,800 hour life.
