Get Yourself Educated

Stop guessing. Stop believing what you hear or read. Question it. Get the facts. Get details. Look at it from the opposing view. Understand motivations.

Use the internet to find actual data. Don’t just look at studies. If you do, look at who paid for them. Then see what facts the opposing view use. Facts. Not opinions. Not shouting. No, not even name calling. If people have facts, they will not need to raise their voice, nor call you names or change the subject.

If people are curious to find the truth, they will join you to try to use facts to find it. If they simply want to thrust their narrative onto you, they will not want to look up data, statistics and facts.

Don’t waste your time with ignorant folks. Spend it with people trying to make things better. It’s more fun and more rewarding.

Take Stock

What have you got? Have you stopped to take stock? Is it your health? Wealth? Relationships? Is it a particular skill, career, or lifestyle?

Sometimes it is good to stop for 5 minutes and remind ourselves how good we have it. This is especially important if we’re ploughing through some really difficult moments.

Everyday Life

After 1,000 blog posts, today seems like any other day. It was a great milestone to achieve and I celebrated the moment but now life goes on.

You can understand how astronauts, Olympians, professional athletes and big stars can have some mental health challenges when their time at the top is all over.

Once you’ve walked on the moon or flown in space, how does everyday life compare? It’s as good as it gets. And then it’s over. Then you need to find joy and appreciation in other things. Everyday life is simple. Enjoy its simplicity.

Thank you to all those who sent me congratulations on the 1,000 blog post milestone. I’m grateful for your encouragement and support.

Try Something Different

Pygmalion has a soft spot in my heart. Probably since I read the play in my teens after finding my Mom’s Secondary School copy in the house.

So a few weeks ago I saw that a production was playing at a local theatre in Hampton Hill and I booked tickets for the family.

It was a Wednesday night and finished late but I wanted to take my wife and kids to it. So that’s what happened.

Despite some initial reluctance, it all went well. It was a very enjoyable performance!

It’s on for a few more nights. Get tickets here. https://www.hamptonhilltheatre.org.uk/production/pygmalion

The theme relates very well to my #1 bestselling book Achieve Anything. Perhaps that’s another reason why I like it!

Try something different. Your world might shift.

Time v Money

You need to spend one or the other. Which will it be?

Do you value your time more than money? Or money more than time? Will you stand in a long queue to buy a cheaper item? Or do you just say no or pick it up elsewhere?

Fix Your Mortgage Today!

Imagine paying £20k/$20k more interest in 2023 than you did in 2022!! This can happen if you haven’t been paying attention or don’t take immediate action.

Many mortgage rates have gone up 3% over the past 12 months. So with a £700,000 mortgage, on a £1 million house, you will pay £21,000 more interest next year. Your rates may have gone from 2% to 5% or £14,000 per annum to £35,000 per annum.

Now if you fixed that for five years, that would be £105,000 less in your pocket and more in your bank’s pocket. Yikes! I bet you could have had nice plans for that kind of money.

You can’t do anything about the rate changes up until now. However, if rates go up 3% more by summer next year, but you lock in now, you could save yourself a further £21,000 per year and £105,0000 over five years. You know it makes sense!!

Get your pen and paper out. Call your bank or broker and run the numbers. Get a fixed rate if it makes sense. This time next year you’ll be so glad you did. Do it now!

This will make you feel better right away. See what else you can say to yourself that would be helpful or pleasant.

Enjoy Dinner Together

Make the effort to eat together at least once a week. Whether it’s you and your partner, your kids, parents, close friends, or grandparents, get a frequent time in your diary.

Then also make sure you are present, alert, engaged and making it the best possible moment you can. These are important moments. You don’t know how many you have left until the last one happens. Then it’s too late.

Enjoy dinner together.
