Can we still be friends?
Can we still be friendly?
Can we accept our differences?

It’s great to have projects on the go. But we need to keep a clear eye on these so they don’t last forever. It sounds great to be working on something, but sometimes we have to make that super extra effort and get items finished.
I have a handful of things that seem to get carried forward each day and have been for weeks, and months in some cases! There are various reasons for that. Some aren’t urgent. Some are nice to have but not critical. Others require input from someone else. Still others take more time then they seem to be worth.
Then occasionally I will have a burst and knock a few of these items off my list. Sometimes that means getting up earlier, going to bed later or switching priorities.
It’s been harder recently with completing the book, the book launch and some other pressing matters. However, I can see a time in late February / March where I can tidy up quite a few of these things. That will feel great!
As a Canadian, I am pleased to see the trucker protest in Ottawa and elsewhere being held, generally, in a good natured, peaceful way. These are unlikely protestors and there would be few, if any, professional activists among their cohort.
Of course, with any large gathering, there will be a few things that go sideways and a few people who do things that both sides would prefer didn’t happen. But rather than look at the sample size of one, or two, lets look at the vast majority and the positives.
It’s peaceful. It’s almost joyous in its nature. There are lots of smiles and hugs, dances and good manners and even well spoken leaders calling for continued calm. Bear in mind it is mid-winter in Ottawa and temperatures sink to -20C (-4F) at night and might only climb to -6C (21F) during the day.
There doesn’t seem to be looting, rioting or arson, which makes it a much better experience for all affected. They are on point. They are there to be heard.
The UK has dropped the mask requirements, along with a growing number of other OECD nations. Serious Covid infections are now about 0.1% of all cases, despite cases being almost 5 times higher than this time last year. This is all good news going forward.
According to the Office of National Statistics (ONS) in the UK, Covid deaths here are starting to approximate those of the flu and pneumonia. If we could live with their annual deaths and challenges for decades, perhaps it is time to make this a win for the people over Covid everywhere.
I entered a shop without a mask this past weekend. It felt so natural and so good. And those that wanted to wear a mask did. And we all shopped and went on our way. No issues. But having that choice felt so good, after two long years. I missed that great, natural feeling. It’s so good to have it back.
Never forget how good you could be. Feel like a champion everyday. Wake up and declare ‘I am a champion.’
If you aren’t the champion of you, who will be? if you don’t promote you, who will? You need to shift toward being comfortable in your own skin and promoting yourself and cheering for you.
Sure, there is always fine tuning you can do. But you’re pretty awesome as it stands right now. Enjoy that, and confidently let the world know in a pleasant way.
What if I could succeed at anything I truly wanted? How different would my life be, if I could reach my goals? How amazing could things get if I aimed for the stars but only landed on the moon?
Start creating your incredible life today. Are you waiting for permission? You’ve got it! Start to imagine the life of your dreams. Consider what you must do to get there. Then start. Start now.
In 5 years you’ll be delighted you started today. In 10 years you’ll be blown away with your progress. In 15 years, wonderful things you hadn’t even considered will be happening like magic.
What if you could? Consider the possibilities. Now go build that dream life!
Your choice. Groundhog Day or something more interesting or exciting? If your days have become monotonous and a bit boring, it may be time to search for something more interesting to add to your days.
What would you like your life to look like? What amazing plans would you have set for you? If you could achieve anything your heart desires, what would you be working towards every day?
Now go take the first step to make that happen!
You’ve worked hard, made some progress and, in general, things are pretty good.
At that point, have your rest, without further thought.
Often we say, ”No, thank you”, when offered help. For many this has simply become the habitual response. I’m suggesting we pause and consider that helping hand.
Perhaps it will lighten the load, reduce the cost, save time or simply make the task more enjoyable.
For the helper, this might help them feel useful in a world where they no longer feel they are. Perhaps they aren’t working, kids are grown up or they are no longer with their partner. Offering to help might be there best option to maintain their social circle.
Next time someone offers to help, accept it graciously. It might feel very good for both of you.

It’s ok to be behind schedule sometimes. There are many different reasons why that can happen. Occasionally we take on too much. Other times events conspire against us. Still other situations involve more learning than expected, which takes time.
I’m feeling about a month behind on my book launch and a few other things. Despite many very long days, I’m still adding more to the list each day than I remove. But at least I’m moving forward in many fronts.
I know it’s a blip. Sometimes unique events warrant exceptional effort. This is one of those times for me. We all have these at some point. The week before going on holiday is a great example.
So, if I’ve not replied or I’ve gone quiet, it’s just a matter of a crazy number of things to get done and not enough me’s or hours in a day to address all of them satisfactorily.
I’ll keep aiming to get on top of things into February. When you’re feeling a little behind, keep pressing forward but give yourself some slack. Rest. Just don’t stop.
I’ll say mine down below. What about you? Do you distinguish between a regular day, good day and great day? What would make your day great? What warrants noting, appreciating and celebrating in your life?
Are you targeting these things, attracting them or completely oblivious and hopeful? A surprise here and there is always great.
But you can also attract great things into your life by thinking and doing great and appreciated things. For example, you help an older woman up some stairs in a building, and later find out she told her daughter about you. The daughter happens to be the Board Director you are interviewing with for your next job. Be kind. Do good.
You can also target things to happen. For example, I could apply for a book award competition and see how that goes.
Why am I having a great day? Friends started receiving their book orders yesterday and today and sent pictures and videos to me. Very cool. More of that please ?.
I also had Rory Sutherland of Ogilvy Group follow me on Twitter today. He’s brilliant and I’m delighted.
Also, more people keep contacting me about my new book from around the world. That’s pretty cool.
Finally, Roxane finished updating the new website for the book (Achieve Anything) and it looks great. Find out more about this life-changing book so you can achieve amazing results in your life in 2022 and beyond. Get your unique signed copy or find links to major booksellers at scottsbook.com
