What’s Your Objective?

With every interaction, you should be aware of what outcome you want at the very end. Is it positive or negative? Do you want to win? Perhaps understanding would be your ideal outcome. Learning is often another. Some people want to be below board though. By that I mean they want something that isn’t morally right or is possibly on the side of, or even full blown, evil.

What’s your objective? Not just now but in the very end?

Move Heaven and Earth

Sometimes you need to do way more than put the work in. You may even have to go a little crazy. Work 16 hour days. Make the calls you are not looking forward to. Pretend they say yes though. Imagine that. Now call them.

Move Heaven and Earth for your dreams. It’s possible and worth it.

Put The Work In

Sometimes you have to stay up late. Occasionally you will have to go all night and all the next day too. You have to stay focused when all others are taking their break.

Nothing succeeds like putting the work in. Book it in and make it happen.

Become Aware

Figure out what you love doing. Drill down on the specific thing that truly brings you joy. Then, for the next 30 days, do something every day to become more aware of that thing. Study it. Reflect on it. Listen to experts in that field. Become aware of all the nuance around that thing.

Stand Up Comedy

It can be a real laugh watching some stand up comedy. Well crafted lines by hard working comedians are fabulous. Their simple observations about life can be so on point. Sometimes it hits close to home. Other times it is simply well considered and perfectly delivered.

More often now I’ll watch some comedy on YouTube. But sometimes, like last night, I’ll get out to see a live show. ‘Live at the Apollo’ at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, West London.

It was a great night out. A friend with a ticket made it both enjoyable and possible. Thank you.

Stand up comedy. Check it out.

Medical Glue Is Marvellous

It’s an amazing invention. It can fix you up in no time. Easy to use and no local anaesthetic required. Also, no stitches or stitch holes as scar tissue. Fascinating.

Imagine having that 200 years ago. Imagine what we might be doing in 100 years from now. We are getting smarter about things. There is a lot of natural healing, food selection and exercise. And for those things that still don’t respond, we can use significant other drugs, appliances and treatments. We keep getting better. It’s a great feeling.

Medical glue is marvellous. Thank you inventors, medical personnel, science folk, crash test dummies and other volunteers.

Reflect On Key Moments

Wonderful or challenging, it is good to reflect on key moments of your life. It could be something many others share as a memory like Woodstock, LiveAid or 9/11. Or these memories could be something personal to you. Perhaps that time your Mom said something inspiring or your brother moved out of the house and you got his room. Whatever the memories are, it is good to reflect on key moments so you begin to understand their impact on you.

Think Positively

You choose how to think. And what you will let ruminate in your mind. Why would you choose anything but positive thoughts. Make it a habit.

The Tip Of The Iceberg

What you can see, isn’t all there is. There is a lot going on below the surface. Remember that the tip of the iceberg is only the beginning.

When speaking to someone, remember that you only get the words, tone and body language. What you may not understand is the full meaning. The person may have a completely different experience to you and therefore have a unique point of view on a topic.

If someone has lived through a traumatic event, and they say they know what it means, they may actually know. And not just theoretically. If they have had the full body and complete mind numbing experience, they may be able to relate on closer level than people who haven’t gone through the challenge.

There is so much information being considered and assessed in the back of our mind all day. We are constantly shifting thoughts around in our unconscious mind and occasionally our conscious one.

This massive information flow can therefore make it easier to assess things by feel or intuition. Taking the time to go through all the data and nuance could take weeks, months or years. However, we can make reasonable snap decisions by weighing up the sense we have. Beware though, making emotional decisions this way is not advised. Get key data as well.

The tip of the iceberg is not all there is.
