1st Step Thinking

Often people go with their first thought or feeling on things.

First or worst thought.

They react. They don’t think or consider. No six chairs thinking for them. Their first instinct of fear, concern, flight and fight are overwhelming. Monkey brain takes over.

Pause for a moment. Consider a few other options. Has the opposing view ever happened to you or in some instances you are aware of? Then relax. As it probably has.

At least get to 2nd Step thinking. Show you have some ability to assess things rationally. You can still prefer your outcome. But remember, others have their personal reasons for wanting their outcomes. It doesn’t mean one is more right or wrong in the universe. So don’t act like it.

Good luck! ?

What Gives You Energy?

Think about when you feel like the Energiser bunny. When does that happen? Are you dancing? Playing a sport? Speaking? Painting? Working on a deal? Attending a concert?

List out on paper when you get most energised. Then start steering your life to spending more time in those situations.

Winning Is Contagious

Unfortunately, so is losing.

Remember that the five people you spend your most time with, heavily impact what your life looks like.

Make sure you are hanging around positive people with skills equal to, better than, or complimentary to, your skills. Make sure their attitude is worth catching also.

Make sure you hang out more with people that are winning. It will change your life.

The New CCTV

Phone, Dashcam or doorbell camera footage are what our local police ask for to help resolve situations in our community.

30 years ago, none of these were an option. They were not even an idea.

Now they are quite common place. Hopefully they encourage people to be better citizens, take their time and be patient with others.

Always Go To The Source First

Go look at the source material. Do not allow someone else to give their opinion as fact. As tempting as it might be to accept that version of events, it’s not a good idea.

Sure it would be quicker. But it won’t be as accurate or informative.

Go to the source first.

What Is The Price For Free Speech?

For some, they paid the ultimate price.

Many take it for granted.

There are also many that have, lucky for them, never even thought about it. They’ve never had too.

Elon Musk is attempting to buy Twitter for $43bn as a proxy for free speech. He is a purist. He seems to believe everyone can have a voice and people should not be censored. Why not?

The Twitter Board doesn’t like it. They rejected the offer. What exactly they didn’t like is hard to tell. That they will likely lose their jobs? That they will lose their power to control who speaks and what they can say? Or that they think, despite a failing business model, they can turn this company around and make it great again.

Get the popcorn, this is interesting.

Sauna, Steam Room, Hot Tub And Chill Pool

I love a sauna. Always have. These were mainly après-ski activities as a kid and teen.

These later became part of an annual spa tradition my wife and I indulge in. 10 minutes hot, then 1 minute cold. Repeat a few times. Shower. Dry off in the warm air on a lounger or hammock, in front of a crackling fire. Then read and drift off to sleep.

It’s amazing. Swimming in the river is nice too. Contact me for location details if you like. Two days and you’re a new person. Indulge.

Skiing And Snowboarding

Skiing and snowboarding are enjoyed by just 135 million people in the world. That’s only 1.7% of the global population.

If you’ve never tried it, consider it. It’s exercise in the fresh air with gorgeous scenery and it’s a lot of fun!
