We do a lot for work, our families, spouse, kids and parents and also friends and community.
However, do you do enough for you?
Get into the habit of taking 1 full day for you every 6 months. It’s essential.

However, do you do enough for you?
Get into the habit of taking 1 full day for you every 6 months. It’s essential.
Try not to fight it too much. Go with what your body tells you, and your mind.
You’ll feel very refreshed at the end of it.
Look a day, week, year and even a decade ahead. Make a plan and follow it.
Aim to be hired on your merit. Yes, it’s expedient to be hired based on other things, but it will never be as pleasing and will rarely make you proud.
You’ll feel better about yourself if you come second on your merits than first by having some strings pulled.
Better questions will help you reveal powerful truths for a better future. What exactly do I want my life to be like in precisely 5 years time?
Can you be honest with yourself with that question? We often try to trick ourselves and avoid the brutal facts of reality. It is easier in the short run but it all catches up with us in the longer run.
Ask questions but also listen carefully to the answer. The answers will reveal more than the ones you make up or hear about in the news.
Every now and then, annually perhaps, you should reassess what you believe and why you believe it.
Consider where you learned these beliefs and how it benefits you.
If there is hate in these beliefs, find out who put it there and why you allow it to stay.
There was great music made in 1983/84/85, and a few other years.
Is music great because of the age you were when you heard it, because it’s just great music, or for some other reason?
Some songs you’ll know forever and others will never be memorable. It’s partly situational.
People tend to pick sides or teams. Whether it is in a religious setting (Christian v Muslim), sports (football v rugby), Politics (left v right) or any other area with more than one option.
Be clear why you picked the side you did.
When you find something to be a bit beyond your comfort level, there are several things you can do. You can ask someone, who may know more, for some guidance, or you can carry on trying to figure it out on your own. Some people, many I believe, will just stop trying, give up and do other things that are easier or within their comfort zone.
However, where you get your greatest growth to propel you to the next level of thinking and life, is when you push through uncomfortable feelings and grow as a person.
It’s amazing how you can find pockets of time in your day to be productive. This could be while waiting in a queue, while others are sleeping or when some people would go for a nap or get entertained.
By squeezing some productivity in between the cracks in the day, you can get more done and leave rest time, strictly for rest.
