Life can change in a second, minute, week, month, year or decade. If it were to change for the positive, how long would you like it to take? The quicker you would like the change to happen, the more action you need to take.
Good decisions also help to make things go faster. Timely decisions too. Don’t fall behind and get dragged along by old opportunities. Stay fresh, alert and ready.
Your highest desire is changeable at any moment. Although it can go a long time being the same, it can change rapidly, and numerous times, depending on the situation.
It could be world peace usually. But it could quickly change to simply getting off of an amusement ride without being ill.
Sometimes it will change from wanting to learn or get along with others to wanting to win in a discussion. Be mindful of this often changing value. It guides you and acts as a filter to how you see the world and how you behave.
If you won’t sacrifice or put in the full effort required to get the results you want, then you have a wish, not a goal. You hope someone will come do it for you. You’re not intent on success. You want someone to give you what you want with no effort required on your part.
I can always tell who is fully committed to their desired results. They create a plan, put in the work, review their progress daily and get the results they were after.
Everyone else? They delude themselves with excuses, reasons and stories. Results don’t lie.
Why do we get curious? Curiosity can be a great thing. It’s instrumental in how we become aware. Curiosity also killed the cat. I want to know so many things. There isn’t enough time to learn all that there is to know about everything.
What is it that drives us to pick up a newspaper or turn the news on the radio or TV? Is it curiosity? Could it be a simple habit we’ve developed?
Perhaps it is our desire to fix things that seem to have gone wrong. Although, it could also be the desire to be a part of social events. It can be a way of connecting with others through a shared topic. Additionally, we can all have an opinion on the event and therefore feel able to comment on it.
It seems odd that we want to know so much about people and places we are unrelated to. In addition, it is rare we can do anything constructive to help the situation either.
So maybe next time you reach for the remote, paper, or a device to search up the news, just stop. You are trading away your life minutes to find out about other people. And you are unlikely to ever encounter those people.
It feels like a funny trade of time. Any thoughts why? I want to know.
We focus on our day and get the basics done. We plan, we schedule and we sort out admin. However, when do you let yourself dream?
Dreaming about how life could be is an essential part of life. If you don’t let yourself dream now and then, you could get stuck in the mundane aspects of life.
Dreaming allows you to use your creative muscles. It also gives you inspiration and hope. Dreaming is the starting line, visualisation is the race and success is the finish line.
Make sure you are following your dreams and not those of others. Living vicariously is useful now and then, but it is not the best strategy for your whole life.
If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.
Exercise your dream muscles today. Set a timer for 5 minutes, or 15 minutes if you can. Get comfortable in a chair or on a sofa. Close your eyes and let your mind get curious and allow your imagination to take over.
What would your ideal life look like? Imagine whatever you like. Do not be restricted by your thoughts about how and when and possibility. Just start considering what your life could look like, if you let it be what you would like it to look like.
If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.
