Freedom Of Choice

We choose to do what makes us feel best. Sometimes we can go into self destruction mode because it makes us feel better. We decided we don’t deserve the great life we have so we try to ruin it. Strange. But true.

The thing is, we can change it all up in a minute. We could do great things each day. But then we can’t wallow in self pity.

Choose to do good things each day. Take care of yourself. Take care of your family and friends. Spend quality time with them rather then just throwing money at them.

Do some hard work on yourself and to help those around you. Stop pushing people away so you can say noone cares. Don’t be a black hole absorbing everyone’s energy. Radiate like the sun, and let your warm love envelope them and fill them with life energy.

The Trouble With Freedom

The trouble is, it sounds great! But you have to be responsible for yourself now, because no one is doing anything for you. You are free to thrive but you are also free to diminish and decline.

People want success and think it will come with untethered freedom. They don’t realise the opposite will be the case without care and attention to the critical matters at hand.

Freedom means you are fully responsible and many people just aren’t ready for that.

Appreciate Your Freedoms

Unfortunately we don’t usually notice our freedoms until they are taken away. If you grew up free, you don’t know anything else. That doesn’t make you bad, just unaware.

There are so many freedoms. Try appreciating your freedoms today.

Freedom of movement. Freedom of religion, to drive, to associate, go for a walk, make a living and use your money how you please.

Imagine each one of those being slowly taken away. Appreciate them now.

The Freedom Factor

What does freedom mean to you? Is it about going where you like, saying things you think, not having to work or having any dependents? The freedom factor determines a lot about your life.

For many people, they can go where they like. In addition, within a very wide spectrum, they can say what they think. In many developed countries, you can already choose not to work and survive with social assistance programs. Finally, you can choose not to have a partner or children or pets that depend on you. That’s usually in your control.

So, a great many people already have freedom. Sometimes we don’t realise how fortunate we are. Because there are still quite a few people, and places, that don’t have these basic freedoms, which many people take for granted. And it wasn’t that long ago you could have lost your head for being in the wrong spot, saying the wrong thing or not paying bills.

Which leads us on to financial freedom. This is the freedom that allows us to choose those things we want to do, when we want to do them. For many this equates to retirement.

But if you love what you do, you may never ‘retire’.
