That’s it. Watch and enjoy watching. They’re quite lovely.

Play With What You Have
Sometimes we don’t have all the resources we would like or that others may have. For teams, sometimes a key player is injured or unavailable.
This hit home Monday when I spent the day watching my son Ryker playing with his school rugby team at a major festival. There was a comment made that they didn’t have all their players. The idea seemed to be that they may have done better with more players as there would be fewer tired players, injuries could be rested a bit more and some would have relished the higher level they played at.
I thought that could be true. Their chances of overall success may have been improved. But then I remembered another key player from another team who was still on the injured list since we played them a few weeks ago. What if all the other teams had all their players or more players or their better players?
Life can be quite random. Sometimes it works in your favour and other times it does not. So, play with what you have and do your absolute best with that.
Everyone Has Their Role To Play
You can play any role. Although, some will suit you better than others. It may be best to pursue a role that highlights your superpower. If you don’t know what that is yet, go with your intuition.
Whatever feels right is the best option. However, you can train your mind or body to create another superpower if the first one isn’t to your preference.
Things can take awhile. But everyone has their role to play. So get out there and make it happen.
Play To Your Crowd
If you want cheers, adulation and support, this is your strategy. If you want the easy route to happiness, play to your crowd.
It is so much easier to play to your cheering, adoring fans. You can bring them along and know what they like. You know their trigger points. Getting them to cheer you on and encourage your commentary happens with ease.
However, this often means they hold an opposing view on the topic compared to many others. So rather than rile people up into some agitated mob, you could use your power for good.
You could weave in elements of the topic which could bring some closer together. Not going for the dramatic in tone and vocabulary could take some of the emotion and heat out of the topic. Adding some useful and balanced information would help people understand the issue better.
The challenge is, this takes a very brave person to do it. Many people prefer the limelight and the euphoria. Few want to do what is better for society for fear of being cast out of their tribe.
When considering what is better, be clear if it is better for you or the greater good. You could help mend fences and build a better future.
Try to inform and influence rather than simply play to your crowd.
Play With Intensity
Do you participate or play to win? Do you get what you can or do you train, practice and excel? Play with intensity, whether it is everyday matters or a World Cup type event.
Those who excel play as hard in training as they do in the league finals. When they step on the pitch, they are competitive. They are competing against themselves to improve their skill, speed or stamina. A personal best is always close in their mind. It doesn’t matter if it is in training or match play.
You can laugh and carry on when you are off the pitch and the game is done. However, it is best to train your mind to be focused from the moment you step on the field of play. This applies to your sports as much as it does to your studies, your career, and even your relationships. Aim to improve every time you turn your mind to that subject.
There is always room for improvement. But someone who is always hustling, trying and putting the extra effort in, will be more valued than others who do not.
If you do not possess natural talent towards something, then it is even more imperative that you play with intensity. It will be noticed.
