Spend Time Together

Whether it is with your spouse, child, parent or friends, make sure to carve out time each week to spend some time together.

Do fun things, silly things and also have important chats. Build those relationships deeply.

You have only one life to do it in and it goes quick. Make sure you put 10-20 minutes in daily and at least weekly (in busier times).

Take Time Out

We often go very quickly through our days. We will race about at work to get home, hurry to do chores, admin, cook dinner, perhaps put kids to bed and then do more work, watch a show or doom scroll on the phone.

Well tonight, take time out and just go to bed. Read for 20 minutes, if you must, rather than doom scroll. Or just curl up in bed and dream about what you have and where you’re going in life.

If that makes you smile with joy, great! If not, perhaps just think of your happy place and drift off to sleep. The added extra time sleeping will be magical which you’ll notice when you get up refreshed in the morning. Enjoy!

Spending Time

Do you truly spend your time how you would want to? Not just your work time, which some of you may not be crazy about, but free time too.

Are you with the people you would most like to be with? Are you doing things that improve your life? Do you spend 20% of your time on fun, rejuvenation and enjoyment? Or are you more of an 80% enjoy and try not to really improve anything?

Spending time is something you should plan. If you just go by feelings, you may find yourself in an awful spot three years from now.

Energy Over Time

People talk about making time, having time, scheduling, etc. But the one thing that may trump time is energy. You may have the energy but not the time, which is one thing. Though, even if you book the time, you may not be able to use it effectively if you don’t have enough energy.

As we age from 20 to 90, each day will have 24 hours and each year 365/6 days. However, most people do not have the energy at 55 that they had at 25. Certainly most won’t have the energy at 80 that they had at 30.

So use your young energy wisely. Do things you want early on in life. Don’t store up high energy activities until later in your years. You may have the time and the money but not the energy. You’ve been warned.

Find Or Allocate Time

You can’t “Make” time. You can find time in your schedule and allocate or re-allocate it. Look at your priorities and decide how you want to spend your time.

Many aspects are mutually exclusive, though some aren’t. You can drive while listening to a podcast or an audio book. But you can’t drive while watching a video.

So if you prioritise what is the most important value, and stick with it, you’ll get a lot more of what you want in life.

Make Some Me Time

Carve out a little corner of your day to get some me time just for you. Maybe you need a whole day away or even an overnight stay. Whatever it is you need to get some space and time, you should book it in. Sometimes it seems like the wrong time but more often than not, you’ll be glad you did it!

Too Little Time

No matter how much you have, it often seems we have too little time. Whether it’s a trip you are on, a project you’re doing or life itself, you really have to prioritise because time is your essential, expiring resource.

All In Good Time

Things don’t always go to plan. And some things take longer than you’d want them to. Things such as having a flat battery, traffic accidents on your route somewhere, or delays to aircraft or buses. Take it all in stride and find a positive reason for the delay. You might just find one: or two.
