The Last Time

There is always a last time. You rarely know when it is though. There is the last time you ever see someone, the last time you work at a company and the last time you visit somewhere special.

Consider everything you do like it’s the last time you will ever do it. Because one day it will be.

Spend More Time Marvelling At Your Life

You’re lucky to be alive. You’ve navigated through big challenges, tough times and difficult circumstances. Life is better now than at any time in the last 20 years. Appreciate that fact every day.

Marvel at how good things are rather than the small problems everyone can find. Be a big, bright, shining star. Give energy to those around you. Do not complain or explain. Attract others into your circle because of how wonderful it is.

Where Does The Time Go?

If you don’t know, you need to pay more attention. Yes, it goes quickly. But, you can do much more with it if you pay attention to it.

Two tips to improve your time use. First, take a piece of paper and jot down what you do every 5 or 15 minutes, for your whole day. Write the time and a few words. For example, 09:00 at desk, opened 10 emails, replied to five. 09:15 went for a coffee. At the end of the day, see where you could tighten things up a little.

Secondly, write out what you need to do and when, the night before. For example, 08:45 make coffee and take to my desk. 09:00 – 09:45 complete house financing. 09:45 – 10:15 make three calls to potential clients.

If you do the second one, you can compare it to the first tip. You’ll see where, when and why you are getting distracted and off track. And for how long.

With this greater awareness, you can make some adjustments to improve your timing and effectiveness.

Time v Money

You need to spend one or the other. Which will it be?

Do you value your time more than money? Or money more than time? Will you stand in a long queue to buy a cheaper item? Or do you just say no or pick it up elsewhere?

Time Zones

They are great to regulate time on planet Earth. But when you cross a few of them all at once, it can be hard on your system.

Some people find it easier going East, but most seem to find it easier going West.

Sometimes it’s just the circumstances you find yourself in. Work, packing, playing can all add to the challenges.

I’m feeling it at the moment. The gravitational pull of my bed is strong. Yet morning comes very early.

How do you deal with it?

Always Allow Extra Time

Whether you’re driving to work, heading on holiday, or preparing for exams or presentations, always allow extra time.

You’ll feel more confident. And it will allow for unexpected things to happen and keep your plans intact.

Allow Extra Time

This is some great advice. Whether you’re renovating a property, heading to the airport, going to an exam or interview or even just driving to a friends, you should allow some extra time for unexpected moments.

We won’t always know in advance when traffic gets heavy, someone becomes ill, or someone bumps into us on our way. Just to be sure to be early, and no later than on time, allow extra time than you think is necessary.

There Is Never Enough Time

Or, there is always enough time, just too many things on your list. Be selective. At one point, your maker will say, ‘time’s up.’ Make sure you have completed the important stuff by that moment.

Having more time seems like a luxury.

Getting more time at the end of a match or exam can be helpful. More time after a difficult diagnosis. The extra hour when clocks fall back in the autumn.

But when it’s time, it’s time.
