Find A Way

If you really want something, you will find a way. If it is not as important to you, you’ll do something else. That is simply human nature. We are drawn toward or we avoid. You may even say we find something else to do, rather than we are avoiding something.

It is part of the procrastination process. If you keep putting something off, think about the thing a little bit. What do you like about it? Why is it supposed to be important? Is there a big impact if you do or don’t do it? Try to put your finger on why you are not doing something. It can be quite revealing, useful and powerful to assess what is going on.

Find a way. If you really want what that success will bring.

It is incredible how situations can spiral out of reality. People hear and then say their version. Not the identical story. We accept the words and context that we want, that are most convenient or suit us. Then we adjust everything in our minds, mixed with our own views. Then we send it back out into the world for someone else to interpret.

It’s a fascinating process. It really should be a skill taught in primary school and then again at higher levels. Our world is based on communication and it seems many people are more interested in influence than communication.

Wonderful or challenging, it is good to reflect on key moments of your life. It could be something many others share as a memory like Woodstock, LiveAid or 9/11. Or these memories could be something personal to you. Perhaps that time your Mom said something inspiring or your brother moved out of the house and you got his room. Whatever the memories are, it is good to reflect on key moments so you begin to understand their impact on you.

There are stimulants and triggers everywhere. Do your best to calm your mind. If you think of life as a marathon and there is time to deal with it all, you will be more calm. Also, only be concerned with what you can actually change. If you cannot impact it, including the opinion of others, just let it go.

Key Skills In Life

You need five key skills in life. That is all. Not 2,000 and not even 200. Nor are they difficult. But without these you will struggle.

Learn to work diligently and with pride.

Be appropriate with money. This includes spending less than you earn.

Be selective with your time. Enjoying time spent is one thing. However, wasting it, especially repeatedly, is an entirely different story.

Learn to be kind to others. This also includes being well mannered.

Finally, be grateful and appreciate all of the people and things that are in your life.

Yes, you could list more here. I could even break some of these down to be more specific. But generally, if you can manage to do these five things, within the broader context of your life, you will do well. By which I mean you will earn a decent living, be joyful, live with little stress and retire on your own means.

Work on these five key skills in life every day.
