It’s the only you’ve got!

If You’re Not Happy…
Look inside. If you’re not as happy as often or as much as you’d like to be, look inside yourself. The answer is usually within you, not in what someone else does or says.
Only you can create the mindset for happiness. You may have to do some work, some thinking or even change some thought patterns or habits. But it is you that needs to do the work. No one can do your push-ups and see the results in you.
Get started today.
Ask!
If you’re thinking of it, ask!
Do not dismiss your idea, thought or question as silly, a waste of time, or any other negative frame. Oftentimes people will not ask their question. They are worse off for not knowing the answer and satisfying their curiosity.
Other people lose out too. As the person you were going to ask loses the opportunity to possibly shine with their knowledge and response, feel valuable or helpful and get a boost of pride or self-esteem for helping someone out.
When in any doubt, simply smile and ask. Your life may dramatically change for the better and so might the life of the responder.
Find Common Ground
Everyone has something in common with someone else. Find out what you have in common and work on that. Build bridges.
Look For Solutions
Many times we can note the problem, focus on the problem, talk about the problem and the problems that arise if the problem isn’t fixed.
If we spent more time thinking about potential solutions, we’d find one that works fairly quickly and get on with implementing it.
Know When To Call It A Day
We can try to fill every day and every minute to feel we’ve used our time wisely.
We can also have breaks and moments to relax and still feel we’ve done amazing and filled our day.
Pushing past the point of peak enjoyment is rarely beneficial. If you aren’t enjoying a movie, leave the theatre or shut it off. If you’re done eating, yet there is still more on your plate, you can just stop.
This goes for holidays too. You don’t have to see everything anyone ever said was worth seeing.
Stunning Scenery
You don’t have to go to Mount Blanc for stunning scenery, but it helps.
Get outside to a nearby park, forest, mountain or lake and take in the natural beauty. Do this as often as you can.
Think about what magic it took to grow the trees and to have all that natural environment around you.
Capture the sense of awe that it deserves.
Look For The Great
There is great everywhere; you just have to look for it. It’s easy to mistake great things for merely good. Good sounds fine.
If you have high expectations, you might say most things are good. But in the big picture, many good things are actually great!
Upgrade your view of the world. Things are much, much better than how you position them.
Spend Quality Time
There is work and admin, volunteer service and every day life but you need to carve out some time for you alone and to be with others.
Don’t just kind of do it though. Remove the distractions, put down the phone, turn off the radio and have nothing on tv.
Spend quality time means you are focused on each other, not other things.
Keep It Classy
No drama required. Wish people well. Compliment them.
Assume the best intentions and let people move on.
Life is hard enough without snippety comments adding fuel to the fire.
