Understand Your Emotions
Your emotions dictate a lot (most/all) of what you think and do. We like to think we’re quite rationale, and many are, but many are not. Be careful not to be ruled by hate and fear or a desire to make everything perfect.
Ensure your emotions are in check and draw sensible conclusions after that.
Enjoy Fun Times
Catch up with friends. Listen to music. Chat. Frolic. Dance. Flirt. Seek adventure. Watch great movies. Dine out. Talk about life and space and hope.
Enjoy it all!
Take Calculated Risks
Life is all risky. Select the risks you take with some solid thinking. Don’t risk it all when it comes to money or health. Take calculated risks and move forward with your eyes wide open.
Celebrate When You Can!
Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, promotions, and even Saturdays all deserve a little celebration. You’ll feel good about it. Enjoy it!
There aren’t that many days in life that you get to celebrate, so when the opportunity arises, or you feel like celebrating life, go for it!!
Spend Time Together
Whether it is with your spouse, child, parent or friends, make sure to carve out time each week to spend some time together.
Do fun things, silly things and also have important chats. Build those relationships deeply.
You have only one life to do it in and it goes quick. Make sure you put 10-20 minutes in daily and at least weekly (in busier times).
Have Fun
That’s it. It’s that simple.
Close Loops
Each time we start something we are best to finish it or cancel it. We need to close the open loop.
You see, when you start a conversation, a project, a task or even an idea in your head, you open a loop. Your mind will keep coming back to this loop until it is closed in some way – completed, cancelled, accepted.
This revisiting of these open loops can drain you of energy and decision making power. That is not good. It leaves less energy for current important things. So every time you can, Close an open loop. You’ll feel lighter and be more effective.
Go With Your Gut
Many people will say different things. Hear them. Weigh their words. But what is the sense in your gut? Many people get things wrong, even if they are experts. You must question and get second or third opinions.
Have Some Fun
Keep it simple. It doesn’t have to cost much. Go to the park to fly a kite, swim in a lake or watch the birds. A local walk, some comedy on tv, or a chat with your favourite person could all be lots of fun. Enjoy it while you can!
