On which type of water would you prefer to live? Oceans are vast, powerful, teaming with life. Lakes are often more quiet, serene.
Or perhaps neither and just have a pool. Fresh water chlorinated or salt water? What do you really want in your life?

That’s the best answer.
Until we want to go for a drive, fly somewhere on vacation, or eat out so we don’t eat leftovers at home.
It’s a tough mental exercise if you’re being honest with yourself. This is mainly because we, as individuals, can all play a bigger part in having an impact on the environment.
There is a natural tendency to blame others and insist they, or government, do things to make it all better. However, for the most part, the government will only ask us to do what we can do ourselves.
For example, we all could have used woven carrier bags for years now. That would have eliminated the manufacture, use and disposal of billions of plastic carrier bags. But not many did that. So the government, in the familial position of parent, made a law and imposed a cost on carrier bags to reduce their use.
Now, do that with driving cars (for work, pleasure, getting kids to school or activities), plastic packaged food items, and plane journeys – for business or pleasure. Stop doing any of these things. Could you? Would you? Will you? From today? You know it would be better on the environment, yet you do not change your ways.
And no, we can’t use an electric vehicle as a defence. Why? Because the impact of making these new cars is still there and what do you think they do to make the electricity.
So one mustn’t be too hard on people that don’t talk the talk, when nearly everyone doesn’t walk the walk.
Memory is an an incredible tool and human function. Think about how amazing it is.
It allows you to start each day knowing how to eat and speak using your full vocabulary. It is also useful in knowing where you parked your car, knowing how to drive and where you are going.
When you think about it for a minute or two, you will realise how absolutely critical memory is in our everyday life.
Another time you will recognise its incredible value is when you lose it or someone you know does. It is then that you will appreciate its magnificent magic.
Forgetting where your keys are is just a glimpse into this. So is not recalling someone’s name. It can be frustrating, time consuming and a little disheartening.
So keep using your memory to the fullest amount every day. Practice and train your brain as often as you can.
Memory is an incredible tool. We will miss it if and when it is gone. We just might not remember why.
The most important asset you have is your health. Be mindful and take care of it. Properly! Avoid cutting corners.
Learn how to sleep like a bear. Be physically active. Develop your resilience skills. Be aware of what you eat and drink. This will have more impact on your quality of life than nearly anything else. It will impact your look, how you feel, your self esteem, a great deal of illnesses you could develop and other mental health issues.
Take it seriously. Get properly aware. Become a disciplined person. Then enjoy it all.
Mentally prepare for that. Build resilience.
You know that moment you’re sitting there and nothing is really happening? That’s the moment. Just smile and enjoy that moment.
You’re alive. That’s what it’s all about.
You might not realise how amazing that moment is, but let me tell you. You were born. That stat in itself is amazing. You haven’t died yet. That is quite impressive! (More impressive if you have and you were still able to read that line).
You’re not at war or being gunned down. Your home is not up in flames. I could list all the things not happening in your moment. But the point is, smile at how ridiculously fortunate you are at this moment. Unbelievable.
If you’re not willing to risk looking stupid, or even just wrong, then you are likely to eventually become stupid, or often wrong.
If you don’t put your hand up in class and ask your question, or possibly give the wrong answer, you won’t learn as much. If you don’t learn as much you run with a less well-informed crowd. Then you might slowly stop questioning, discussing, debating or considering ideas.
Your mental agility will dull and you might retreat from society a little. Then a little more. Now you definitely don’t want to look stupid because you have enough challenges in your life. You don’t need to reduce your confidence, self esteem or power group social standing unnecessarily.
Be willing to look stupid. It’s a much smarter path to follow.
Things you read, hear, watch, see, smell and touch can influence what you ultimately think. Is studying medicine scary or yucky? Or is it exciting and helpful? What is the reason why you think this way?
Look at A, B and C. Consider the upside and downsides. Write this out in the most clear way. Review it twice. Show a few people and consider their feedback and comments.
Where are the risks? How will you mitigate them? Make a decision and go for it!
