Look to simple solutions, especially to complex problems. Small, simple steps, building on one another, will eventually drive the best result.

Decide To Be In Awe
Decide to be in awe of the world around us. As I look around the room, I am grateful for all of the people who conceived of all the products I can see.
In addition, I am grateful for all of the people, I will never know or meet, who financed these products through R&D and manufacture. And finally, I’m grateful to all of the people who worked in the companies, the supply chains, and the delivery units, that enabled these products to surround me in this room.
Sure, I went out and bought these items, so the effort doesn’t seem that incredible. However, the whole idea of each one of these products began years before I decided it was a product I needed and was willing to spend my hard earned money on.
Just think about all the sourcing of the raw materials that went into a plug, a lamp, a painting, a wood carving, a table, a ceiling fan, bedsheets, and a pen.
When you stop and think about all of this, it is really hard not to be in awe of the world we live in.
Are You Tracking?
To achieve your goals, you should have a plan that is written down. And if you have a plan, you should have specific milestones. Those milestones need to be checked on frequently. Sometimes this means daily and sometimes it might mean weekly.
One way to greatly increase your rate of success is to have timed, specific, milestones that you move closer to every day. Not only that, you need to be tracking them, frequently.
Track your success daily. This will help you keep your focus on your important goals.
Listen Carefully
When having a conversation with another person, listen carefully, not casually. Listen to what the person is actually saying. Listen to the words they are using and the order of the words.
Occasionally you will need to understand the general point and other times it will be the specifics.
And when a specific question or comment is made, accept it for that which it is. Do not try to guess what they really mean, or mind read. Answer the actual question, not another question you have made up in your mind.
Subtle Subterfuge
This is not the best game to be played. It is better to be up front and play things straight. Win on your merits.
Let People Know
Let people know, while they’re alive, all the good things you notice about them. Say it daily. Write them notes. Send them a full page letter.
People rarely hear enough good things about them after the age of 18. Let’s change that.
Find Your Faith
What do you believe in?
Have you ever really sat down for an hour and wrestled with this? Perhaps you have very clear cut convictions. Writing out your thoughts can be very helpful.
I think there was a scene in Bull Durham where the player rhymed off everything he believed in. Can you do that?
Maybe it’s time to give it more thought. ????
Listen To Understand
Some people, unknowingly, listen to misunderstand. They already know exactly what they think and they have no interest in understanding a different perspective.
They don’t have to agree with the different perspective, but it’s useful if they at least understand it. People generally are pretty good minded. So understanding their position is helpful and shouldn’t test your boundaries very much.
Most misunderstandings, or arguments, stem from one person holding on to their position regardless of ANY evidence that may contradict that position.
Give people the opportunity to calmly state their case, provide evidence, and then you listen to understand. There is something that is bothering them and you have the capacity to understand it, so you should.
If you do, you are likely to learn something new, grow and maybe even keep a friend.
Tribe V Values
Some people will hold on to their tribal affiliations more vigorously than they hold on to their values.
Best not to be that type of person.
Build Your Wins
You really must recognise all of your wins, from the simple to the exceptional. It may be easy to dismiss them or shrug them off as not important, but don’t, as these are the critical building blocks to your confidence and self-esteem.
These are your receipts. Each win is proof you are doing the work and getting results! Yes, you!!
Smile. Stand up straight. Shoulders back. Chin up. And enjoy the moment. You are making things happen. Feel the pride in your achievements.
You deserve that good feeling.
You are putting in the work, building discipline and resilience and wins! Carry on.
