Have You Written Out Your Wants?

Like a grocery list, you sit with pen and paper and look around and think about what it is you really would like.

Rather than jam and milk, you might think about a month in Peru in their summer, hiking the Inca trail, spending two weeks on a quiet beach on Zanzibar or walking part of the Great Wall of China.

You can write out the qualities of the perfect partner for you or the outline of the book you want to write. You might also note down the fitness level you would like to maintain in your 40s, 50s, and 60s.

It’s quite a powerful process to write these things out and bring them to life. You’ll feel better for the process. Then you can organise when and how you’ll do them. Then go and enjoy your dreams while you can.

Let The Past Fade

Focus on the future and your ideal life. Map out what your world would look like in your happiest moments. Then build the environment and habits to make that ideal life become reality.

Let the past fade. Except for awesome, wonderful memories and the education and experience you’ve gained.

Do not harbour resentment, it is a self inflicted poison.

Focus on the great future and all the positive vibes.

Challenge Yourself

Can you be disciplined? Of course you can be. You simply need to make the focused effort to do it.

It’s easy to say you can’t. It’s hard to say you will; and keep your promise. But it can and should be done. You’ll feel much better for pushing through a tough day, long hours, late nights and many rather tough challenges.

Build a better you. Do it today.

Build Great Environments

If you build great environments, you won’t need to rely as much on motivation, discipline, or habits.

Put things in your vicinity that will help you reach your goals and remove people and items that will slow you down, distract or detour you.

Yes, it really can be that simple.

Connections

You never know who you will meet or how they will fit in your life. So keep speaking to people, hearing their story and thinking through how you may be able to help each other.

If You’re Not Happy…

Look inside. If you’re not as happy as often or as much as you’d like to be, look inside yourself. The answer is usually within you, not in what someone else does or says.

Only you can create the mindset for happiness. You may have to do some work, some thinking or even change some thought patterns or habits. But it is you that needs to do the work. No one can do your push-ups and see the results in you.

Get started today.

Ask!

If you’re thinking of it, ask!

Do not dismiss your idea, thought or question as silly, a waste of time, or any other negative frame. Oftentimes people will not ask their question. They are worse off for not knowing the answer and satisfying their curiosity.

Other people lose out too. As the person you were going to ask loses the opportunity to possibly shine with their knowledge and response, feel valuable or helpful and get a boost of pride or self-esteem for helping someone out.

When in any doubt, simply smile and ask. Your life may dramatically change for the better and so might the life of the responder.

Look For Solutions

Many times we can note the problem, focus on the problem, talk about the problem and the problems that arise if the problem isn’t fixed.

If we spent more time thinking about potential solutions, we’d find one that works fairly quickly and get on with implementing it.

Know When To Call It A Day

We can try to fill every day and every minute to feel we’ve used our time wisely.

We can also have breaks and moments to relax and still feel we’ve done amazing and filled our day.

Pushing past the point of peak enjoyment is rarely beneficial. If you aren’t enjoying a movie, leave the theatre or shut it off. If you’re done eating, yet there is still more on your plate, you can just stop.

This goes for holidays too. You don’t have to see everything anyone ever said was worth seeing.
