Forgive And Forget
Powerful words. We don’t realise how important these words are to our own health – both mental and physical.
Holding a grudge, resentment, contempt or any other negative emotion is like carrying acid – it destroys the carrier.
Being angry with someone that maybe you feel did you wrong, only makes your life worse. You carry that baggage while they’re out dancing.
It takes quite a bit of maturity to forgive people. And then also to forget about the whole thing. Do you have that level of maturity?
Your whole life could change if you decided to take the mature approach and forgive and forget. Will you do it?
Faith V Fear
You choose daily. Both require belief in something you can’t see.
Which will you choose? Why do you choose the one you do?
Faith, hope and willingness are powerful forces when seeking to achieve a difficult goal.
Ask Questions
Get really good at asking all sorts of questions Small talk questions. Big life questions. And every question in between.
Also get very good at listening to the answers.
What Are You Thinking About Most?
You are what you think about. Happy thoughts? Sad thoughts? Fears? Success?
Stop once a day and think about what you’ve let run loose in your mind. Be mindful.
Escort your negative, fearful thoughts to the door and close it. If there was something to learn or be aware of, take that, but don’t dwell.
Look for positive, encouraging and inspiring thoughts. Dwell on those all day.
Make sure your food for thought is a healthy meal!
Be Positive
It’s such an amazing, wonderful characteristic. It draws people toward you. It makes life so much better.
Write Out Your Plan
Get it down on paper. Start with 35 years from now. Note down what you’ll have done, been, seen and have. Write it like it came true.
You’ll start to focus on these points every day. Keep reading them and rewriting them. Soon they’ll start to appear in your life. You will be in awe, but keep going.
Peace
A word used quite often. Though anyone screaming it probably doesn’t really understand its true meaning or significance.
Peace is calm, tranquil, and understanding. There are no games. If two countries or people want this in their relationship, and both work towards that as their ultimate common goal, then it will happen.
You can’t have only one party openly and actively committed to peace and still achieve it. The other side has to participate, with peace as its highest priority, or it is nearly impossible to achieve. Otherwise, the committed party will always be a bit hesitant and wonder if the other party will keep the peace, and that is not peace for the committed party.
The war zone can be quiet, and peace can reign, when both parties come to the table with only peace as its top priority.
Be More Curious
It’s easy to think we know so much. Yet, we know very little. We extrapolate, generalise, use bias and guess quite a bit.
We hurry people through their speech, usually just to say our bit. We aren’t that interested in what the other person has to say. We have our view and want to express that.
Yet things can dramatically improve if we just get more curious. Listen patiently to the person speaking. Understand their current mindset. Get the context in perspective. Listen to their words and emphasis.
You will learn a lot. You will improve your understanding. Your communication will improve. And you’ll become a better person.
Minimalist
The less you have, the less admin you have. The more you have, the more you need a family office or house manager.
Regardless, I feel the more minimalist you become, the happier you will be.
